Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built TransferBridge solo because I was tired of AirDrop being Apple-only and every "simple" file transfer app secretly wanting me to create an account or upload through their servers.
The whole idea: your phone never installs anything — it just opens a browser, scans a QR code, and you're sending files over your own Wi-Fi in under 10 seconds.
A few things I'm proud of:
— The entire "mobile app" is just an HTML/JS page served directly by the Rust backend. No separate mobile codebase.
— Binary size is ~8MB thanks to Tauri instead of Electron.
— The free plan is genuinely usable (not a crippled trial) — 10 transfers/day, 500MB max.
— Mobile Money support for African users via Genius Pay (Wave, Orange Money, MTN) — most Western apps completely ignore this market.
