Hi Product Hunt, I'm Aadit, the maker. I kept needing YouTube transcripts for side projects (summaries, search over talks, feeding tutorials to coding agents). The official Data API only gives captions for videos you own, and open-source scrapers work on a laptop but get blocked from cloud IPs. So I built TranscriptYT: one endpoint that returns timestamped JSON, or text, SRT, VTT, CSV or Markdown. It translates into 150+ languages with timings preserved, and videos with no captions are transcribed with Whisper. There's also an MCP server, so Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can fetch a transcript when you paste a link. Failed requests aren't billed. 100 free transcripts, no card, then from $1.58 per 1,000. There's also a no-signup web tool if you just need one transcript. I'd love to hear what breaks or what format you wish it returned. I'll answer every comment.
