Over the years I've learnt how valuable it is to write down your work achievements, ideas and the impact you make in your role. All those notes taken in note apps, Excel documents and Word docs add up over time. They become an excellent resource when updating your CV, preparing for performance reviews, or even interviews. At times, they even help with imposter syndrome.
But eventually, I found the system impractical. Searching through notes and spreadsheets isn't a great experience. And getting any meaningful insights from them? Almost impossible.
I actually started building this as a desktop app. The idea was a global keyboard shortcut (like Things 3) that would instantly pop open a small window so you could capture an idea or achievement the moment it happened. I loved that feature. But getting people to install third-party software on their work machines is near impossible thanks to corporate IT policies. So I made the call to rebuild it as a web app, and what you're seeing today is v2.0 of that journey.
