TrailSync

Overland trip planner that knows your rig and route.

The overland trip planner built around your rig: day-by-day routes, 22,829 US and Canada campsites, fuel and water stops, and live wildfire checks. Tell TrailSync your tank size, MPG, length and clearance, and it builds an itinerary your vehicle can actually run — fuel stops before you'd run dry, camp nights spaced to real daily range. Connect Victron VRM or an RREV Hub and your live battery, solar and tank levels appear inside the same app that planned the route.

Hi Product Hunt,

Jane here from RREV. We build expedition vehicles at RREV (Roam Resilient Expedition Vehicles). For years we watched customers take delivery of a rig engineered to the kilowatt-hour, then plan their first trip across eight apps that had no idea the vehicle existed.

Your rig isn't an abstraction. It gets 11 miles to the gallon, not "average." It carries 46 gallons of fuel and 40 of water. It's 22 feet long, which decides which forest roads are even an option. Every planner we tried treated that as a detail. To us it was the whole problem.

So TrailSync starts with the vehicle. Fuel stops placed before the tank runs low, water where it actually exists, camp nights spaced to a day you can really drive. Then it keeps watching: active wildfires scanned within 50 miles of your route and re-checked every time you open a saved trip, because a plan made in June needs to know about the fire that started in August.

The part no other planner has, because no one else builds the vehicles: connect Victron VRM or an RREV Hub and your live battery, solar and tank data shows up inside the same app that planned the route.

What it isn't at the moment: it's not a topo/GPS-track app — no downloadable offline map layers or trail difficulty ratings yet, and coverage is US and Canada only (for now). Plenty of people will use it alongside Gaia rather than instead of it.

Free to start, no ads. I'll be here all day — tell me what's missing.

Who hunted TrailSync?

TrailSync was hunted by TrailSync. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
