Hey Product Hunt 👋

A few years ago I noticed something annoying about myself.

I knew the mental models. I could explain inversion, premortems, first principles, the 10/10/10 rule. But the moment I had a genuinely hard decision in front of me, my brain ignored every one of them. I'd spiral for three days and then pick whatever felt easiest.

Books gave me knowledge. They didn't give me a habit.

So I built the thing I wanted:

🧰 Decision Toolbox — free, no login, no email
13 frameworks (weighted pros & cons, premortem, inversion, regret minimisation, two-way door, root-cause ladder…) each with guided questions you run against a real decision. You can use it right now, on the thing you're currently stuck on.

🧠 Mental Model Trainer — £4.99/month
1,300+ realistic scenarios, spaced repetition, ~5 minutes a day. The point isn't recall. It's that six weeks in, when something hard lands on your desk, your brain asks "should I premortem this?" on its own.

The name is stolen from Buffett — the pile of decisions you deliberately decline to make. Turns out almost nobody outside investing has heard the phrase, which I'm choosing to find charming rather than a branding error 😅

What I'd love feedback on:

  • Start at the free toolbox with a real decision. Does the guided version of a framework actually get you somewhere, or does it feel like a worksheet?

  • Anything confusing, unnecessary, or that just doesn't click. Blunt is welcome.

  • Is 13 the right number, or is the shelf too crowded to choose from?

I'll be here all day.
