Tonefold is a free, open-source AI music composer for macOS and Windows. Describe a song to Claude, get chords, melody, bass and drums in a piano roll you can edit note by note, then export MIDI, WAV and stems.
Hey Product Hunt!
I make music, and AI song tools always frustrated me. They hand you a finished track, and you can't change a single chord in it.
Tonefold writes notes instead. Type "lo-fi verse in D minor, lazy drums" and Claude puts chords, melody, bass and drums in a piano roll. Play it right away, edit any note, export MIDI or stems.
For bigger changes, a producer agent shows you its plan and waits for your OK before it writes anything.
It's free and open source, on macOS and Windows. Honest caveats: the Mac build isn't notarized yet, and FL Studio is the only DAW I've tested the plugin in.
What's the first thing you'd try to make with it?

Tonefold was hunted by VKFolio. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
