Tonearm

Calm background radio for deep work

Tonearm is a tiny focus radio for Chrome — curated lo-fi, ambient, indie, and coding stations with no account, no feed, and no decision fatigue. It lives in your browser toolbar, keeps playing after the pop-up closes, supports volume control, and stays privacy-first: no tracking, no listening history.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Tonearm because I wanted a tiny focus radio that lives in the browser and doesn’t turn into another tab to manage. Most music apps are built for browsing: playlists, feeds, recommendations, endless choices. Tonearm is intentionally smaller — open from the toolbar, press play, and get back to work. What it does: • Curated lo-fi, ambient, indie, and coding stations • One-click play/pause from Chrome • Volume control and native media controls • Playback continues after the pop-up closes • No account, no feed, no tracking, no listening history The goal is simple: less choosing, more focusing. I’d love feedback on: 1. Does the station mix feel right for deep work? 2. Is the pop-up clear enough? 3. Would you use this instead of opening YouTube/Spotify for background focus music? Thanks for checking it out 🎚️
