Token Monster
A pixel pet for Claude Code that eats your tokens
Token Monster is a pixel-art pet in a side pane of Claude Code. It eats every token Claude streams. Its size shows how full your context is, its glow shows your usage limits, and its face shows what Claude is doing. Free and open source.
Hi Product Hunt, I made Token Monster, a mod for Claude Code.
It's a pixel pet that lives in a side pane and eats the tokens Claude streams, so you can see at a glance what you'd otherwise read from numbers:
- Size: how full your context is
- Glow: your session and weekly limits, green to amber to pulsing red
- Face: what Claude is doing, from thinking to on fire to a K.O.
- It waves when Claude is waiting on you, and its leftovers frost over when the prompt cache has likely gone cold
- A diet: pick the biggest tool results in your context and your next /compact replaces just those
It levels up across sessions and earns a bow tie, a cap, a crown, a cape and a halo. Five monsters, several colors.
The monsters on the website run the same renderer as the mod, so you can try one there by typing. It's free, MIT, and makes no network calls.
Which monster would you pick, and what should it show next?
