Token Guard
Local LLM gateway & cost tracker
Token Guard is a free, open-source desktop app that tracks LLM spend and converts between OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini SDK formats — all locally.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the creator of Token Guard.
Like many of you, I use LLMs daily — ChatGPT, Claude, local models, you name it. But I got tired of guessing how much I was spending across different providers, and I really didn't want yet another cloud service tracking every prompt I send.
So I built Token Guard: a local LLM API gateway that runs on your own machine. It proxies requests to any OpenAI-compatible provider, logs every token and cost in a local SQLite database, and gives you a clean dashboard — all without any data leaving your computer.
Here's what makes it different:
• Privacy-first — zero telemetry, zero cloud. Everything stays local.
• Works with any provider — OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, vLLM, or your own custom endpoint
• Lightweight desktop app — built with Tauri + Rust, runs in your system tray
• Free and open source under Apache 2.0. The Pro license ($4.99 one-time) removes the support banner and enables auto-updates — a lifetime purchase, not a subscription.
I'd love to hear what you think — especially if you've been looking for a self-hosted alternative to the expensive cloud monitoring tools.
