A native macOS terminal with a workspace for every project.
Most terminals stop at tabs and windows. Toastty gives each project its own workspace: its own tabs, its own running shells, its own place to come back to. A sidebar lists your projects, a tab rail shows the current one, and panes split, drag, and snap into place. Built on Ghostty's engine, Toastty is a macOS development preview you build from source.
I love Ghostty for its simplicity but then I started using harnesses like Codex, Claude Code, and Devin. Work went from one tab → multiple tabs → multiple projects. Organization became a mess so I looked for alternatives which still used libghostty under the hood and found cmux. It's perfect for many, but I find it too complex. Open the settings once and you're knocking yourself out. I wanted something closer to what Mitchell would've build if he wanted better organization. Toastty is an attempt to make that happen. Toastty... mostly Ghostty!
