TipsMate - Tip Tracking Platform
TipsMate helps service workers track their tips
The easiest way for service workers to track tips, log earnings, and see detailed statistics. Free, offline-first, and works on any device. Compared to other apps, TipsMate offers minimal features(just tip recording and statistics), making it easier to reason about and start using it. The user interface is made for speed of use as well, allowing you to track tips even during really busy shifts, and use the app with one hand only.
I have been working as a waiter for the past 8 years, and have been using excel spreadsheets to keep track of my tips. That was quite annoying as it was slow and not user friendly. I have looked at a bunch of different apps but they all had so many features that I thought there isn't much difference between using that or excel.
About 2 years ago I started learning software development, and so I decided to learn by doing, and I built a few apps to help solve real personal problems, one of them being tip tracking.
That's how I have built TipsMate. Using it has been great, and some of my colleagues saw me using it and wanted in, so now I do have about 50 active users. I thought maybe I can spread the word and get the app to even more people.
This is a what's called a progressive web app, as in it's a website so you can definitely use it on the web, but you can also add it to the homescreen of your device, be it IOS or Android. Once you have an account and you record your first tip, there's gonna be a pop-up with instructions on how to do that(on Android there's actually be a button that says install that you click and you have it, but IOS is gonna be a bit more complicated(You have to press the Share button, then scroll down and click Add to Homescreen)).
