Hey Product Hunt!

TinyPlay started with two underused computers in my home — a Mac mini and an N100 mini PC. Both are more than powerful enough to play my entire media library on a TV. The problem was controlling them from the couch: keyboard and mouse feel awkward, and air mice are just... not great.

I didn’t want to replace them with a full media-center setup. I just wanted a simple, phone-first way to control the computer that was already sitting next to the TV.

Scan a QR code, open your phone browser, and you can browse Jellyfin, Emby, Plex, local folders, network shares, IPTV, or simply open any website like YouTube and Netflix. Seek, change playback speed, switch subtitles or audio tracks — all without leaving the sofa. No phone app required.

The Windows and macOS versions are free and open source.

There’s also a separate Apple TV app (core features free, playback speed is a one-time Pro unlock — no subscription).

Curious which part you’d try first — media servers, local files, IPTV, or just opening a website?
