Hey everyone! I built SindriCAD because the professional CAD software I depended on simply didn't run on Linux, and none of the workarounds felt right. So I built my own tool instead of bending my workflow to fit somebody else's. It follows the shortcuts and workflow that most makers already know from mainstream parametric CAD, so the learning curve should be gentle. It covers the everyday solid modeling toolset (extrude, revolve, loft, fillet, chamfer, shell, patterns), keeps a full parametric history so you can tweak a dimension and watch the whole part rebuild, and can press real printable textures like knurls and honeycombs into a surface. It exports straight to STL, STEP, and 3MF (including multi-color 3MF) so it slots into whatever slicer you already use. It's free and open source (AGPL), runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac, and no account is required to try it. It's still in public beta, so expect some rough edges, especially on macOS where the build is currently unsigned. Would love feedback from fellow makers and 3D printing folks here - what would you want out of a CAD tool built specifically for printing rather than engineering drawings?

Who hunted SindriCAD?

SindriCAD was hunted by Thomas Haugen (MakerViking). A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
