TimberCloud
Shopify-meets-shop-floor for custom manufacturers
TimberCloud lets custom manufacturers — cabinet, door, millwork, and furniture shops — sell configurable products online and run production from the same system. Customer-facing 3D configurator, formula-based pricing, AI that reads your POs, plus cut sheets and station tracking. Selling online in a day, not a six-month ERP project.
My family has been building custom cabinet doors at Porta Door in CT for 60+ years, and I watched my dad run the whole operation on a combination of whiteboards, spreadsheets, and legacy ERP systems, losing jobs because he couldn't get a quote out fast enough, or remaking a whole door because someone mistyped one dimension along the way.
I became a developer, and I started building a back-office tool for his shop: quoting, scheduling, production tracking. But for a made-to-order shop, the thing that breaks first isselling. You can't take a custom cabinet order end-to-end on standard ecommerce platforms. Every quote, with all the dimensions, materials, and configurations, is done by hand.
So I decided to build it the other way around, commerce first:
An embeddable storefront + 3D product configurator your customers order through themselves
Formula-based pricing (sq ft, board ft, per unit) so quotes are instant and actually correct
AI genuinely purpose-built for custom: it reads inbound POs and blueprints, can build your product catalog from a PDF, and turns plain-english into pricing formulas
Then the production side: cut sheets, station tracking, and shipping labels from 30+ shipping carriers, automatically generated from the order
My family's shop was our first customer, and the latest version is running their shop today.
After years of iterating on the platform, we're finally ready to officially launch TimberCloud. At the end of August, my co-founder @steph_kaufman and I will be showcasing TimberCloud at IWF Atlanta, the largest woodworking trade show in North America.
So, as we gear up for the official launch, we'd love to hear your feedback and words of wisdom — especially if you:
have built software for manufacturing
are in the custom manufacturing industry (and know the pain of having to re-type the order 5x)
have launched a product at a trade show — how'd it go?
Curious how it works? Book a 30-minute demo with me and bring your catalog – I'll show you how easy it is to get your shop running on TimberCloud.
And of course, if you or someone you know runs a custom shop, give us a try for free – every plan offers a 14-day free trial.

Who hunted TimberCloud?
TimberCloud was hunted by Justin Romanos. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
