TileBuddy
The scoring companion for Hong Kong Mahjong
TileBuddy is a free scoring companion for Hong Kong Mahjong — built for players who want to focus on the game, not the paperwork. Track scores across rounds, calculate faan with a full breakdown, and settle up at the end. There's a built-in hand wiki (Classic, New 6, New 18) that works offline, so you can settle disputes without opening a browser. Capture your winning tiles and identify your hand score automatically.

Hey PH! Wesley here, solo dev behind TileBuddy. I built this because my regular mahjong group kept losing 20 minutes a session to scoring disputes. Someone wins a tricky hand, nobody agrees on the faan count, and the whole table grinds to a halt. TileBuddy started as a faan calculator. Then I added score tracking, then the hand wiki, then the AI scanner. It's been live on the App Store for a few months and I've been using it with my group every week. I've also reached out to Mahjong clubs and am exploring Club features (e.g., queue management, leaderboards, table management) A few things I'd love feedback on: - Tooltips - Userflow - Clarity of features Happy to answer questions about the build too — React + Capacitor, Supabase, Gemini Vision for the tile scanning.
