TidyOutput

16 browser tools to clean up AI text. Nothing uploaded.

AI output arrives full of em dashes, Markdown markers, and invisible characters that break spreadsheets and search. TidyOutput is 16 single-purpose tools that each fix one of those in a paste. Everything runs in your browser as static files, so nothing is uploaded or stored.

I built this because of a small, repeated annoyance. Every time I pasted ChatGPT or Claude output into a document, I'd spend a minute stripping em dashes, curly quotes, leftover Markdown, and the occasional invisible character that quietly breaks a CSV import or an exact-match search. So I made 16 tools that each do exactly one of those jobs: • AI Text Cleaner — strips Markdown, normalizes quotes and dashes, removes hidden characters in one pass • Invisible Character Remover — shows every zero-width space and directional mark in place, with its Unicode code point • ChatGPT Export Viewer — drop in conversations.json from your export and read or download individual chats • Markdown → Word, Markdown table → Excel, JSON → CSV, CSV → Markdown • Transcript timestamp remover, prompt splitter, text anonymizer, and more The design constraint I actually care about: everything runs in the browser. The site is static files. There's no server-side processing, no account, and nothing you paste is uploaded. That's not a privacy policy that could change next quarter — there's nowhere for the text to go. Open DevTools and the network panel stays empty while you work. One thing I learned building the invisible-character tool: the common belief that AI models watermark output with zero-width characters doesn't hold up. Generate the same answer twice and the invisible characters don't form a stable pattern. They're almost always non-breaking spaces the *browser* adds when you copy from the chat UI. I wrote up the full breakdown here: https://tidyoutput.com/invisible... It's free and will stay free. Happy to answer anything, and the roadmap is basically "whatever people keep asking for" — so tell me what's missing.
