TiboTattle
Know what your Codex allowance is really worth
TiboTattle is a local-first desktop app that turns your seven-day Codex allowance into an API-price-equivalent estimate. See remaining quota, reset times, usage history, cached and uncached input, reasoning output, and output text—without sending prompts, responses, or file paths off your machine. Available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, with optional content-free community benchmarks. Open source under the MIT License.
Hi Product Hunt! I built TiboTattle because Codex shows a percentage and a reset clock, but not what that allowance is worth or how a week of work consumes it.
TiboTattle runs your personal analysis locally. It reconstructs the seven-day allowance from observed provider evidence, prices observed work against published API rates, and makes uncertainty explicit when the evidence cannot support a confident answer. Prompts, responses, file paths, and raw account identifiers stay out of derived data.
There is a signed desktop app for macOS and Windows, a Linux AppImage, and the source is open on GitHub. The public community view uses delayed, aggregate, content-free measurements, and sharing is controllable in Settings.
I would especially value feedback on the allowance and cost views: what would help you decide when to use Standard versus Fast mode, switch models, or defer work until reset?
