Every 3D printer needs a "slicer": the program that turns a 3D model into
machine instructions. All of them are desktop installs, and the web ones upload
your files to a server.
So I spent months porting the engine to WebAssembly. It runs
entirely in your tab: Arachne walls, tree supports, multi-material with a prime
tower, and resin printing with PrusaSlicer's support/pad chain exporting .sl1.
Open the page and it slices a Benchy in front of you; no signup, nothing
leaves your machine. Open your devtools network tab and check.
It's also an npm package, because the part I actually care about is that print
preview and quoting can now live inside someone else's web app instead of
requiring a download.
It's derived from OrcaSlicer, so it's AGPL-3.0 and fully open source.
