Thoughts of Trains
A multi-tasking switch management brain game with trains.
Most games make you play the way they want you to play and give little control over the environment. Thoughts of Trains hands the settings over. You set the train speed, train interval, open stations, even the scenery like lakes, trees and season. Make it slow and gentle for a kid, or fast enough to break you. Every map is grown from a seed word or phrase. 1000's and 1000's of different maps. Too many for your lifetime. Share your seed and settings with a friend and they can play the same map.
Every time I play a game I want to fix it and make it better. In this case I took a simple switch management game, routing trains to the proper station, and crossed it with a procedural system like RimWorld. Instead of a fixed set of levels and a handful of maps, Thoughts of Trains can create more maps than you could play in a lifetime. I also give the player control of the settings, from train speed to the number of trees on the map. This is the game I wanted to play, so I made it, and I keep coming back to it.
