π The Backstory
Like many web administrators and developers here, Iβve spent thousands of dollars buying premium website themes over the years. Almost every theme on the market promises a "100/100 Lighthouse score" and "perfect Core Web Vitals."
But time and again, the reality hits right after installation: bloated source code, horrible Layout Shifts (CLS), and massive Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) delays that crush Google rankings. Digging through ThemeForest or Shopify metadata just to find a genuinely fast template became an absolute nightmare.
π‘ Why I Built ThemeAudits
I decided to stop guessing and start measuring. I built an automated backend data pipeline using Python and Google Lighthouse to run deep performance audits on thousands of popular themes.
To keep the platform high-quality, I even wrote scripts to purge thousands of bloated, low-rated, or dead templates entirely. Whatβs left on ThemeAudits is pure, filtered, and objective technical data.
