The Vault
A CBT mirror that runs 100% on-device — nothing stored
The Vault is a no-coddle CBT "Socratic mirror" in a single HTML file. A small LLM runs entirely on your device (WebGPU, CPU fallback), keeps nothing, sends nothing — no server, no account, no analytics. You type what's going on; it reflects it back, names the distortion, offers a reframe. Built for people who can't or won't reach mental healthcare. Open source (GPL v3).
Maker here. I build sound for a living; I built this across a few late nights because America's mental healthcare is hard to reach and harder to afford, and a sounding board that keeps NOTHING felt like the honest version of this idea. One file, on-device model, PURGE button, done. The design call people argue with: the crisis net is narrow on purpose — imminent danger gets a human voice and real numbers; dark thoughts get listened to, not lockout letters. The full reasoning is in the README. It's GPL — if you can carry it somewhere I can't (another language is the big one), it's yours.

Who hunted The Vault?
The Vault was hunted by soundmandt. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
