The Letter

A private journal you can share with when you're ready

Most journaling apps focus on habits, productivity, or social features. The Letter was built around a different principle: your journal should belong to you. Entries are encrypted before storage, private by default, and can be shared securely only when you choose, with whomever you choose. Designed with therapy in mind, The Letter combines strong privacy with meaningful sharing, bridging the gap between a personal diary and a collaborative reflection tool.

Top comment

The Letter originated out of a personal need. My psychologist told me to keep a journal between appointments that I could share with her so she could keep track of me, but every app I used felt more like a diary with to-do lists instead of a journal for self-reflection. So I created one.

Who hunted The Letter?

The Letter was hunted by Junior Dias. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
