Email-to-iMessage
The first & only email-to-iMessage notification system
Send an email, get an iMessage. text.email has just added email-to-iMessage alerts alongside email-to-SMS and email-to-MMS. Now you can drop your text.email address into any server or device and critical alerts will come through to your iPhone (and other Apple devices) as iMessages. Works anywhere in the world. From the team at text.email and GMass.
I'm Ajay, the founder of GMass. Earlier this year I launched text.email as an easy, drop-in email-to-SMS option (since the cell phone carriers have killed off or are in the process of killing off their email-to-text services like vtext.com).
And now, text.email is the world's first and only email-to-iMessage service for system alerts. Your email alerts can arrive on an iPhone as an iMessage rather than an SMS.
The problem:
One of the most common questions we've heard is: "Can I use this outside the U.S. and Canada?"
Until now, unfortunately, the answer was no. Texting across borders means handling every country's rules (and their cell phone carriers' rules) for who can send messages and how they register.
iMessage runs over the internet, not the cellular infrastructure, so it isn't bound by any of that. If your iPhone has Wi-Fi or data, the alert gets there, in any country.
That also means it works in places that cellular service doesn't reach, like on a plane, in your hotel room when you're traveling abroad, or in a sub-basement.
And iMessages come through on all your connected Apple devices, so you can get critical alerts on your Mac, Apple Watch, or iPad.
What else email-to-iMessage at text.email can do
- Long alerts. No need to worry about character counts. iMessages arrive in a single bubble, not divided up.
- Required acknowledgment. The alert keeps repeating until someone replies with the ACK code.
- Two-way replies. A reply to the alert lands in your inbox as an email. Respond to that email and it goes back as an iMessage.
- Attachments. Images or other files in the alert email come through as a link.
- SMS fallback. If the recipient is on Android or has no data, the alert still sends as an SMS text (U.S. and Canada only).
Try it right now
If you have an iPhone, send an email to your-number@i.text.email. Don't forget the "i." That's what tells us to send it as an iMessage instead of SMS.
Note: keep your test to something like "The server is down!" This is for alerts, not marketing, so anything promotional will get kicked back.
And when you're ready to sign up, text.email is $20/month including 200 messages (any combo of SMS and iMessage) or you can pay-as-you-go without a monthly subscription. Email-to-iMessage is included on all plans.
We've also added tons of useful features since text.email launched in January including distribution lists, on-call schedules, MMS messaging, AI summaries, and more.
If your NAS, PLC, cron job, controller, or monitoring tool can send an email, it can now send an iMessage. Live right now, at text.email.

If you have an iPhone, send an email to your-number@i.text.email. Don't forget the "i." That's what tells us to send it as an iMessage instead of SMS.
In the U.S. and Canada, use your 10-digit number (like 5552329209@i.text.email). Everywhere else, put the country code first with no plus sign (like 919812345678@i.text.email).
