Hey everyone, Tyler here, founder of Tethora.
I built this because I kept seeing the same problem at every company adopting AI agents: nobody knows what their agents are actually doing.
Teams are shipping AI-powered features faster than ever. Customer support bots, code review agents, data pipeline automations. But once these agents are in production, there's zero visibility. No audit trail, no guardrails, no way to prove compliance when an auditor asks.
The tipping point was watching a mid-size company discover that three different teams had deployed AI agents processing customer data, none of them formally approved, none of them logged. Shadow AI is already a real problem and it's only getting worse.
Existing solutions either target Fortune 500 with six-figure contracts and six-month implementations, or they're developer observability tools that track token costs but don't do governance. Nothing existed for the mid-market team that needs real compliance without the enterprise overhead.
So I built Tethora. A drop-in SDK, 5-minute setup, and you immediately see every AI agent in your org, what they're doing, and whether they're following your policies. Auto-generated compliance reports for EU AI Act, GDPR, SOC 2, and four other frameworks.
The approach evolved a lot during development. I started with just audit logging, but quickly realised logging alone isn't enough. You need enforcement. That's where the policy engine came in, with the ability to flag, block, or require human approval before an agent takes a risky action. The compliance reports came from talking to actual compliance leads who said "I need something I can hand to an auditor, not a dashboard."
