Ever since switching to Telegram as my primary content consumption platform, I've been annoyed at the lack of the functionality to create a feed from selected channels. Telegram is better than any RSS feed app for media display, but it's extremely inconvenient in switching between the channels. Folders organise organise the channels, but they don't help with figuring out channels that post 100+ messages per day. So I've built Televizor to address this issue.
You log in with your Telegram, pick the channels you want, and their messages get forwarded into a single chronological chat in your own Telegram account. No separate client, no extension, no new app – the feed lives in a chat.
A few things worth flagging:
🤖 Uses MTProto user auth (Telethon), same protocol every official Telegram client uses. Reads any channel you've joined.
👐 Open source under GPL-3 since day one. Session auth touches your account, so the code should be readable.
🤓 Self-hostable on Docker Compose in about 10 minutes. Self-host has every feature the hosted version does.
🔐 Zero message storage. Messages are forwarded through Telegram's API, never retained.
Interface in English, Russian, Farsi, and Portuguese.
🌟 Free tier is 1 feed with unlimited channels, permanent – not a trial. Premium adds multiple feeds and per-feed keyword filters. If one feed covers your reading, stay free forever.
Honest disclosure: I'm not a hardcore backend dev. I vibe-coded this over a few months to scratch my own itch, and the code is open specifically so anyone more experienced can read what it does (and tell me where it's bad).
