Taxi Sathi
Driver-to-driver booking marketplace for India's cab drivers
Indian taxi drivers find bookings through chaotic WhatsApp groups—no verification, no structure, no payment security. TaxiSathi is a B2B marketplace where verified drivers post trips they can't fulfill and other drivers accept them, with secure in-app commission payments.
Hey Product Hunt,
I'm Chetan Agrawal, founder of Taxi Sathi.
India has millions of outstation taxi drivers. Most of them find work the same way—scrolling through dozens of WhatsApp groups, hoping someone posts a booking they can take. No verification, no way to filter by location, no payment protection. A driver in Bengaluru might get a trip to Mysore he can't cover. Today, he either lets it go or posts it in a WhatsApp group and hopes the driver who picks it up actually pays the commission. Often, they don't.
Taxi Sathi replaces that with a structured marketplace. Drivers post trips they can't fulfill, set their commission, and other verified drivers accept them. The platform handles commission security — customer details are encrypted and only released after payment clears through the app.
This isn't an Ola or Uber competitor. We don't connect drivers to passengers. We connect drivers to each other — the B2B layer that sits underneath India's fragmented outstation taxi market.
We're early. A few hundred drivers on the platform, real bookings flowing, and 1-2 organic installs daily with zero marketing spend — which tells us drivers are actively searching for exactly this.
The model is subscription-based: posting is free, and accepting bookings costs ₹234/month (~$2.80). No take-rate on transactions.
Would love feedback from anyone who's built marketplaces or worked on supply-side cold-start problems — that's our biggest challenge right now, and we're not pretending otherwise.

Who hunted Taxi Sathi?
Taxi Sathi was hunted by Chetan Agrawal. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
