Taska

GTD you can keep going — see only what you can do now

A GTD task manager for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Capture with no name and no place, clarify one question at a time, then see only what you can do where you are right now. Alarms when you arrive, delegation with no read receipts, and no priorities to reset.

Hi Product Hunt 👋

I'm the maker of Taska. I've tried GTD many times, and it always broke down the same way: not because the method was wrong, but because the upkeep was heavy. Sort everything, name everything, walk every list each week… and soon I was back to a plain to-do list.

So Taska asks one question: what does the paper version make a person do that a phone could do instead?

- Capturing is not deciding. Throw things into the Inbox with no name and no place. When you clarify later, Taska shows when and where you captured each note, so you remember why you wrote it.
- Available now, not "high priority". There are no priority flags to keep resetting. Next Actions shows only what passes where you are, the tools you have, and the time and energy you have left.
- It tells you when you can act. Set a place and it can ring an alarm when you arrive — even with the app closed.
- Delegate, then stop remembering. Send a link; accepted, declined and done come back on their own. No read receipts.
- Things the app won't do: no priorities, no due-date nagging, no AI deciding where your tasks go. AI only writes drafts when you ask (Premium).

The app is free with ads. Premium removes ads and adds AI drafts, Apple Calendar events, time/energy filters and the Mac app — and new subscribers get the first month free.

Quick answers to the questions I expect:
- Platforms: iPhone, iPad and Mac. No Android or web app for now.
- Price: free with ads. Premium is $2.99/month or $29.99/year (first month free).
- Account: none needed to start. Sign in with Apple to sync between your devices — and you can use a different Apple ID from the one on your device.
- Your data: export everything at any time, and erase it from the Account screen. Your location is only used on the device to check whether you're at a place; it is never sent to the server.
- Languages: English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Korean and Chinese.

I'd love to hear how you run GTD, and where Taska gets in your way. Thanks for taking a look!
