Top comment

I made Tapefolio for people who record interviews and cannot upload them: it transcribes on your Mac, labels who is speaking, and helps you replace names, places, emails and phone numbers before you share a transcript. It also reads scanned pages and photos with OCR. Your files are not uploaded. The only network use is optional model downloads from Hugging Face, the update check, and macOS fetching Apple's own speech model once. It misses some identifiers and mishears words, and the page says so. It needs macOS 26 and Apple silicon. Free for 7 days with no account, then $29.99 once with every update included. I would like to hear what a research workflow needs that it lacks.

Who hunted Tapefolio?

Tapefolio was hunted by Benjamin Ampel. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
