Tansei
A simple shelf for Mac and Windows
Tansei sits at the edge of your screen and keeps everything you copy: text, links, images, files, colors & screenshots. When you need something, drag it straight back into any app. No more digging through folders or losing the thread between apps. Built for people who switch between apps all day. Pin what you use most, search everything, and keep your place. One purchase, no subscription, no account. Everything stays on your device.
👋 I’m the developer of Tansei. It launched here for Mac in July, and now it works on Windows too.
What working in 2026 actually feels like
🤖 AI hands you more than you can file: images, drafts, whole documents
🗂️ Folders are for things you’re finished with, and you’re never finished
🪟 Your “workspace” is really 14 tabs, a messy desktop, and a Notepad you never close
🔀 The whole day is moving between things, and you’re the one carrying all of it
So I built Tansei, a shelf for the stuff in motion.
📥 Drop anything on it: files, images, text, links, all in one place
👀 It stays in view beside your work, so there’s nothing to search or recall
📌 Pin the things you keep reaching for
⌨️ Tuck the whole shelf away when you want the space back
🧹 Clear it when you’re done
Tansei just keeps all of it in front of me, because I can see it.
What’s the one thing you keep losing between apps? I’d love to hear it.

Who hunted Tansei ?
Tansei was hunted by Pooja Phillips. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
