I'm Stefan, the maker of Talk to History — and I'm excited to finally share this with you.
The idea came from a simple frustration: history was always my favourite subject, but school made it feel like memorising dates rather than understanding people. I kept thinking — what if I could just ask them?
So I built it. Talk to History lets you have real conversations with 65+ historical figures powered by GPT-4o. Not just Q&A — actual back-and-forth dialogue where each figure responds based on their real writings, speeches, and known beliefs.
A few things I'm especially proud of:
• Every response can be read aloud, so conversations feel alive
• The app detects your region and highlights figures from your country — you might discover someone you never knew about
• The dark, minimal design keeps you focused on the conversation, not the UI
This started as a weekend project and turned into something I genuinely use every day. I had a 45-minute conversation with Nikola Tesla about renewable energy last week and learned more than I expected.
