Taiwan Driving Test & Guide
Pass Taiwan's driving exam in your own language
The official Taiwan driving exam bank, all 2,182 questions in 8 languages, with the hazard videos and the real riding test scoring sheet. Plus a step by step guide of the whole process, what to book, what it costs, and where people actually fail.
I moved to Taiwan and had to get a driving licence. The government does something genuinely good, it publishes the whole exam question bank in 8 languages, so you can study the questions in Burmese or Khmer or Vietnamese. And then it stops there.
The theory manual behind those answers exists only in Mandarin, and so is almost everything around the exam. When booking opens and when it closes, what it really costs once every fee is added up, which papers to bring, how the riding test is actually scored, and, for a scooter, a hazard perception test you have to pass before you are even allowed to book.
None of that is in the question bank, and none of it is a translation problem. People do not fail on the questions. They fail on the process. Other apps have the questions. This one has the process.
So it ships the real official bank in 8 languages, the 136 official hazard videos, 126 for scooters and 10 the car bank gained in June, playing offline because this audience studies on tight mobile data, the government's actual scoring sheet for the riding test drawn obstacle by obstacle with the real deductions, and a step by step guide from paperwork to the day they print the card. Every fact is traced to an official source, and there is an inbox for corrections because I will get some wrong.
The Ship-a-ton run was mostly not code. It was parsing five government PDFs into 2,182 questions, discovering the scoring sheet I had been trusting was three years out of date, and rebuilding 88 road sign graphics because the official files draw round signs as ellipses.
The study material is free and stays free. One 2.99 purchase removes the banner ad. That is the whole business model.
Built with Expo, RevenueCat, OneSignal, Astro and Cloudflare. Happy to be corrected on any fact in here.
