TabVitals
Find heavy tabs, free RAM, and fix one broken site.
TabVitals is an all-in-one tab-care extension for Chrome. It shows which loaded tabs are using memory, lets you sleep safe background tabs without closing them, and clears cache or resets data for only the current website. Active, pinned, audible, and Always Awake tabs stay protected. Diagnostics run locally, with no signup or payment required during the public beta.
I usually keep a lot of Chrome tabs open while I work. When memory use climbed, Activity Monitor mostly gave me a wall of Chrome Helper Renderer processes, not a useful answer about which tab I could act on.
I wanted a simple workflow: see the loaded tabs that appear heavy, sleep safe background tabs without closing them, and leave my current, pinned, audio, and important sites alone.
The other recurring annoyance was troubleshooting one broken website. The usual advice is to clear browser data, even when only one domain has stale cache or a bad session. TabVitals therefore also lets you clear cache or fully reset only the current site.
The beta is free, requires no account, and is installable from the Chrome Web Store. Diagnostics run locally. Chrome may show a debugger warning because X-Ray uses Chrome's diagnostic interface during a scan; TabVitals does not upload page content, passwords, cookies, or browsing history.
What I most want to learn is where the memory readings or protection rules feel unclear, and whether the one-site reset workflow saves you from clearing the rest of Chrome.
