tabtime.io
time tracking, automation
Tabtime logs time by Chrome tab group and Cursor workspace, then rolls it up to each client's retainer — no timers, no manual entry.
I started freelancing as a Shopify developer in 2025, and the thing that quietly killed my billing accuracy was switching between clients, forgetting to start or stop timers, then reconstructing my day from memory at invoice time.
Every time tracker I tried either needed manual start/stop (the exact thing I kept forgetting) or did auto-tracking of everything I touched, but in such an ineffective way that i just didnt trust it. So I built TabTime: it tracks time based on your browser tab groups and IDE workspace. Open a client's tab group/codebase, time is tracked to that client. Close it, it stops. No timers, no screenshots.
It's deliberately lightweight, I only built what I actually needed as a freelancer. If there's something you'd want added, tell me. I'm shipping fast right now.
