SynerSpice - Matchmaker
Model any two herbs, graded by confidence
Pick any two herbs and see how they actually interact — amplify, gate, or cancel out — graded by confidence and backed by real citations. Free to browse, native on iPhone/iPad/Mac. SynerSpice models each herb as a set of biological "connectors" — the channels, enzymes, and pathways its active compound acts on. Educational, not medical advice.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I kept noticing the same thing in herb & spice apps: they hand you a list of "benefits" with zero indication of how sure anyone actually is. Black pepper + turmeric is a real, measured effect. Most other pairings you'll see claimed online are… not that. I wanted an app that's honest about the difference.
SynerSpice models each herb as a set of biological "connectors" — the channels, enzymes, and pathways its active compound acts on — and computes how any two herbs behave together:
Amplifying — independent routes onto the same target that multiply
Bioavailability boost — one raises how much of the other reaches you
Redundant — same route, additive at best
No known interaction — honestly, nothing predicted from what we know
Every prediction is graded — Confirmed (a real measured study), Predicted (derived from confirmed mechanisms), or Speculative — and every herb links straight to the actual research behind it (PubMed/PMC/journal, one tap). Only two pairings in the whole app are backed by direct measurement; everything else is clearly labeled as an estimate. When the model doesn't know something, it says so instead of inventing a number.
What it is: 35 herbs and spices, each with its active compound, an evidence rating, serving guidance (including the form that actually gets you the best effect), safety notes, and cited sources — plus the interaction engine to model any pair. Native SwiftUI on iPhone, iPad, and Mac from one codebase, Light/Dark/ System appearance, no account, no tracking, fully offline except when you tap a source link.
Free vs. Premium: the entire library and every source is free. Premium unlocks the interaction engine (modeling pairs + each herb's "Confirmed & likely pairings" shortlist) — 14-day free trial, then a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
To be upfront: this is an educational reference tool, not medical advice. It models mechanistic plausibility, not clinical outcomes — always talk to a doctor before changing what you eat for a health reason.
I'd love feedback on: whether the confidence-grading actually reads as trustworthy rather than wishy-washy, whether the free/Premium split feels fair, and — if you cook — which herbs/spices you'd want added next. Ask me anything!
