Synczipr

Unzip large archives without filling up your disc.

Synczipr solves the infamous "Disk Full" error when unpacking massive files. Traditional extractors require enough disk capacity for both the original archive AND the extracted files simultaneously. Synczipr eliminates this storage overhead at the byte level. How it works: Using a stream-based extraction engine, it decompresses files sequentially. Synczipr immediately eliminates the consumed portion of the original archive by employing sparse-file hole punching as each chunk is extracted.

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m super excited to introduce Synczipr to the community today.

We built this tool to solve a very specific, yet incredibly frustrating problem: running out of disk space while extracting huge files. Whether you are unpacking an 80GB ML dataset, a heavy 3D asset library, or a massive game repack, traditional extractors demand space for both the ZIP and the unzipped files at the same time.

Synczipr changes this entirely. We built a stream-based engine that extracts your files and instantly deletes the consumed parts of the archive in real-time. This means your storage peak usage stays minimal, and you never see a "Disk Full" error halfway through an extraction again.

It’s currently available for Windows and handles all major formats (ZIP, RAR, 7z) including multi-part archives. Plus, the first 60GB of extraction is always free!

I’d love to hear your feedback, use cases, or any questions you have about our stream-processing architecture. I’ll be in the comments all day! 👇
