SwapHEIC. started as a scratch-my-own-itch tool: my iPhone photos wouldn’t open on anything else, and every HEIC converter online wanted me to upload my photos to their server to “process” them. That felt backwards — HEIC decoding runs fine in a browser, so why does my vacation photo need a round trip through someone’s cloud?
SwapHEIC runs 100% client-side. You drop a file, it’s converted in your browser, you download it. Nothing uploaded. No account. No size limit. No watermark. It works offline after the first page load.
