I have a complicated relationship with time. A countdown timer never helped me — the number just sits there and my brain doesn't *feel* it. So I built the timer I actually needed: one where time is a thing you can watch disappear.
In Sundae your focus session becomes an ice cream that melts, a candle that burns down, a train that rides home — rendered live with Metal shaders, second by second, never a looping video. It shows up on your Lock Screen too (Live Activity), so the phone can sit face-up and you still feel time passing.
The part I care about most is what it *doesn't* do. There's no shame anywhere. Step away mid-session and it just naps — nothing withers, nothing is lost. Streaks only ever celebrate; miss a day and the app says nothing. There's even a Lounge Mode: an official do-nothing timer where finishing a *rest* keeps your streak alive. A sea otter named Pebble keeps you company and floats in the melted sundae when you finish. I don't make the rules.
It's built entirely offline — no account, no ads, no tracking, no data collected (the app literally can't reach the network). The free tier is a full timer with three scenes; a one-time $9.99 unlocks everything. Never a subscription.
