Summarly

Your books, ready before they reach your accountant

Snap a receipt or import your statement — Summarly reads each receipt, matches it to the right transaction, and categorises new spending from your own vendor history. From those approved lines it builds your four financial statements, your VAT position quarter by quarter, and every tax deadline a year ahead, costed from your real figures. Ask questions in plain English. Invoicing, payslips and documents are built in. Free plan, no card, and nothing posts to your books without your approval.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Argyris, the maker of Summarly. Every freelancer and small-business owner I know runs the same ritual every month: a pile of receipts, a bank statement, and an accountant billing by the hour to reconcile the two. I was doing it myself, and it kept striking me as a solved problem nobody had actually solved at small-business scale. Summarly sits in the middle. Snap a receipt on your phone or drop a PDF in, and it reads the receipt and proposes the matching transaction. New transactions get categorised from your own vendor history, onto a chart of accounts your accountant will recognise. You approve — nothing touches your books on its own — and what your accountant opens at month-end is already clean. Because those lines are real double-entry, everything downstream comes free: trial balance, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for any period you pick, a VAT position that's current as of the last transaction that landed, and a calendar of every deadline a year ahead, each one costed from your real figures. A tax bill is never news. There's also invoicing, payslips, document storage, and an assistant you can ask "how much VAT will I owe this quarter, and what's driving it?" — it answers from your actual transactions and shows the figures it used. Some honest notes, because I'd rather you hear them from me: • Tax deadlines and tax computation are Cyprus-only today. Bookkeeping, receipts, invoicing, payroll, statements and documents work anywhere — the tax calendar is where I started because it's where I live. More countries next. • Live bank sync isn't on yet. Today you import a statement or CSV, or add transactions manually; the open-banking connections are built and waiting on provider approval. • There's no receipt-forwarding email address. Capture is the iPhone Shortcut, or dropping files in. • The free plan is genuinely free and stays that way — it includes the statements, the VAT view, invoicing, payroll and documents. Premium is €8/month and raises limits rather than unlocking sections. What I'd love from you: tell me where your bookkeeping actually hurts. If it's a step Summarly doesn't touch yet, that's the most useful thing you can give me today. I'll be here all day answering everything. 🙏
