Stroke
a fast, modern, minimal database client.
Stroke is a database client for people who work in their database all day and are tired of fighting their tools. It's a fast, lightweight desktop app for PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and Cloudflare D1 that stays smooth even on tables with over a million rows. It's keyboard-first, with a command palette for everything, and AI-native — chat with your data, generate SQL, and connect your own AI tools through a built-in MCP server. Clean, focused, no bloat. Just the tools you need.
I've used a lot of database clients over the years and always ended up frustrated. One would lag the moment a table got big. Another had a UI so bloated I couldn't find anything. Some had awkward interactions, some didn't support the dialects I actually needed, and almost none of them were built for working from the keyboard. On top of that, barely any of them had real AI or MCP support. and it renders big huge table without lagging, or perf drops, and so on.
So I built Stroke, the client I wished existed.
It's a Tauri desktop app that connects to PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and Cloudflare D1. It stays fast even on tables with a million-plus rows, it's keyboard-first, and it has AI and a built-in MCP server baked in so you can actually use your data with the tools you already work with.
It's still early and there's a lot I want to improve, so I'd really like to hear what you use today and what annoys you most about it.
