Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Mark and I'm 19, I started developing this app 2-3 years ago and have been perfecting it ever since. I'm a student who doesn't have a lot of spare time, and somehow always manages to start 5 new hobbies at once. The problem is they tend to fade out with time, with no real stickiness. So at 16 I was thinking about how I could make myself stick to at least 2-3 hobbies without quitting them abruptly. For me it was the GYM and Programming.
I tried and tried multiple apps that claimed to solve this issue but they never worked, they looked terrible and lacked that sense of "importance" to complete them each day.
One day I said "Let me try to create my own formula", and so I did.
Therefore I built StreakUp with effectiveness and cool design in mind, and created something that gave me a real dopamine boost and sense of importance for my habits like nothing else. I've always loved the streak idea from apps like Duolingo, and I've seen the effects firsthand ( 900+ day streak and still going!), so I made it the core of the app.
Furthermore, I wanted to create something that other people can also use and make themselves better with, so I'm happy to share this passion project with all of you and I hope that the app will be as effective for you as it is for me. 🔥
