StormAuditor
Free address-level wind, hail, and storm history insights.
StormAuditor is a weather research platform built to help property owners, roofing contractors, insurance professionals, restoration companies, and other users investigate historical wind, hail, and severe-weather activity at a specific address. Instead of searching through multiple government databases, storm reports, maps, and weather archives, users can enter an address and review relevant weather information in one place.
I built StormAuditor because researching historical wind and hail at a specific property was far more complicated and expensive than it needed to be.
The information exists, but it is scattered across weather stations, government archives, storm reports, radar products, surface analyses, warnings, and large regional maps. For property owners, contractors, inspectors, and claims professionals, answering a basic question like “What weather affected this address, and when?” can require searching several different systems and interpreting technical datasets.
StormAuditor brings that research together in one place. Users can enter an address and review possible storm dates, estimated peak wind conditions, hail indicators, nearby measured or reported observations, maps, timelines, and supporting weather records.
One of the biggest challenges was presenting complex weather information in a way that remains useful without overstating what the data proves. Weather conditions can vary significantly over short distances, observations may be sparse, and modeled estimates are not the same as direct measurements. We focused on clearly labeling sources, distances, data types, and limitations so users can understand the evidence behind each result.
StormAuditor is not intended to determine whether property damage occurred or replace an inspection, engineering analysis, or certified meteorological report. It is designed to make reliable storm-history research faster, clearer, and more accessible.
I would appreciate feedback on the address-search experience, report clarity, maps, data explanations, and any additional features that would make the platform more useful.
