Still Around
A desktop pet that looks like your actual cat or dog
A free desktop pet for Mac and Windows. A few photos of your own cat or dog become a hand-built vector companion that walks, sits, washes and naps on your desktop. No AI image gen. No server. Photos never leave the device. MIT, no account, no paid tier.
I built this for two cats, Momo and Belle. After they were gone it seemed unreasonable to keep it to myself.
There is no server in the product. Two vision models run in the browser, so photos never leave the machine. The desktop app just gets a small JSON file of measurements, not an account.
It's free, MIT, and there is no paid tier planned. Ever. I'd rather hear what is off than collect upvotes.

Who hunted Still Around?
Still Around was hunted by Ankur Anwekar. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
