StepStore
StepStore helps you block distracting apps.
StepStore helps you earn intentional screen-time access by walking. Turn your steps into unlock credit and build healthier phone habits.
Built StepStore because I realized most screen-time apps fight your habits with restrictions, guilt, or timers — but almost none of them create a positive reason to put the phone down.
So I tried a different approach:
What if screen time had to be earned?
StepStore turns walking into minutes. Your daily steps become “screen-time energy” that you can spend your minutes to unlock apps and scrolling sessions. The more active you are, the more freedom you get — without feeling punished.
One thing I learned while building this is that behavior change feels much more powerful when it’s emotional instead of purely functional. That’s why I focused heavily on the mascot system and energy states: energized, exhausted, cooling off, recovering. The app tries to make your digital habits feel visible and tangible rather than hidden in settings menus.
The goal was never to create another productivity app. I wanted StepStore to feel like a tiny fitness companion that gently pushes you to leave the phone behind and go outside for a walk.
