Stash

A place for your notes

Stash is a 100% Mac native Markdown notes app. Your files live in ~/Stash (or another folder if you prefer) and you can connect to any Git backend (my files are connected to a private GitHub repo). Notes can be Markdown text or simple tables (CSV or Markdown). Select a file to show its details, Git timeline, and a rich text preview with clickable task items and link details. Open a file to edit it with syntax highlighting, preview and diffs.

Top comment

I built this because while there are many notes apps, there were none that I could find that met my specific requirements. I wanted something that was a) native b) fully compliant with Markdown standards c) folder/file based and d) Git integrated. It's meant a lot more upfront work but I think it's resulted in something that I can really make awesome.

Who hunted Stash?

Stash was hunted by Andrew K. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
