Most modern mobile games share the same frustrating pattern: 500 MB downloads, aggressive paywalls, and unskippable ads after every single tap.
I wanted to build the exact opposite: an instant, zero-friction arcade game you can jump into directly from your mobile browser in under two seconds.
What is Star Hop?
It’s a precision one-tap arcade game where you orbit planets and time your jumps across the galaxy.

• Zero friction: No installs, no app store hurdles, runs smoothly at 60 fps in Safari/Chrome.
• 100% ad-free & free-to-play: No intrusive popups ruining the flow.
• Daily Challenge: A synchronized daily seed so everyone plays the exact same galaxy.
• Collection loop: 100 collectible holographic pilot cards (with tilt/gyro effects) that unlock ships inspired by iconic spacecraft.
• Optional cloud save: Play anonymously, or sign in to sync cards and compete on global leaderboards.
The build story:
This started as a vibe coding experiment using Phaser. With the latest Claude models, I iterated heavily on the game feel, responsive controls for vertical screens, and the card collection system.
