Hey everyone! We’re thrilled to launch Stammer.ai on Product Hunt! In 2023 we witnessed the AI explosion with the launch of ChatGPT. At the time, Ross and I were working on different projects but we knew AI was the future, so we started brainstorming about assembling a team to build an AI startup. They say you never forget where you were at key moments in your life and I can say for sure this is true. I was actually at hotel in Mumbai texting with Ross over iMessage as we worked out the vision for what Stammer could be... Our vision? AI agents that go beyond just conversing and answering questions based on a knowledge base. We wanted to connect these agents to other platforms and equip them with tools and functions to expand their capabilities. When function calling debuted in 2023 for ChatGPT, we pounced on the opportunity. We were among the first to offer conversational appointment scheduling using this new approach to of letting LLMs decide when to call code based on the context of the conversation. Now, there's something else unique about Stammer.: our go-to-market strategy. You see, we’re all about white labeling. Our platform lets our customers—primarily digital agencies—completely rebrand our product as their own. Thanks to our Stripe integration, they can launch their own AI SaaS in minutes and start accepting payments from their customers. This white-label approach also aligns perfectly with our product development philosophy: community-driven development. The Stammer team doesn’t hide behind tickets or titles. We’re constantly chatting with our customers—maybe even a bit too much! We host weekly office hours for feedback and suggestions, and our Discord community is very active. We truly see our agency customers as development partners and a lot of our day is spent just talking with customers. This approach stems from our past experiences. Both Ross and I have a customer driven focused philosophy in everything we do. I was frustrated with Big Corp product development and wanted to be closer to customers...to build software directly with them that solves a pain point so compelling that they will pay for it. And AI overall is an interesting beast that really lends itself to a services-driven approach. Our agency customers are like the last mile in helping us solve the problem of delivering AI to businesses. You see, everyone thinks that prompting an AI agent is an easy thing to do. But it's not, and business owners do not have the time to learn how to do it. Many of them simply don't have the skills required to break down complex business processes into written english that an LLM can understand. And this is where our agency customers come in and save the day for their own customers. We started a year ago with just Ross and I but over the past 12 months have grown to a team of more than 12! 🤯 We're also 100% bootstrapped and have no interest in funding.
