Building Squidir because G2 wants $15-35K/year from vendors just to be visible — completely out of reach for the 34,000+ bootstrapped SaaS startups across Europe. So we built the opposite: a directory where organic ranking is never for sale. The query that powers featured placements and the query that powers ranking are architecturally separate — we never merge them. We pre-populated the catalog with ~500 EU SaaS products before opening it up, verified via VIES for VAT and audited server location for the EU badge, so vendors don't launch into an empty room.
