Hi everyone, I'm Duarte solo founder building SAI.
SAI puts one quiet sponsor line in your agent's wait state and credits you in AI credits, which you spend straight back on model calls through a local, OpenAI-compatible gateway. Earned waiting, spent thinking.
What makes it different:
- Local-first by design. Your prompts, code, file paths and terminal output never leave your machine
- only ~11 boring wait-state metadata fields go up (interactive? CI? duration bucket?). Run sai privacy schema to see the exact contract.
- A kill switch on the front page. sai config kill-switch on stops every sponsor surface instantly. Adware doesn't ship a kill switch.
- You spend what you earn. The gateway provisions a provider key capped at your balance and calls the model directly — I read the usage counter, never your traffic.
Being straight with you: this is early beta. Until sponsor campaigns are funded the wait pays little, and the pricing on the site is marked PROJECTED. There's a $5/hour-per-install cap, but that's a guardrail against gaming. I'd rather under-promise here than burn trust.
