I used Android for 12 years before switching to Mac, and the thing I missed most was true split-screen multitasking. Every "split view" solution I tried on Mac felt clunky or limited.
So I built SplitSecuredBrowser myself, a native split-screen browser where you can resize two tabs side by side, control audio independently per tab (mute one, listen to the other), and save your tab layouts as Workspaces to restore instantly.
A few things I focused on:
- No tracking, no ads, no account required
- Touch ID lock for privacy
- Built fully native for Mac, not a wrapped web app
This is a solo project, lots of trial and error getting the split-view resizing and audio handling right. Would genuinely love your feedback, especially if you're someone who multitasks a lot or came from Android like me!
