Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built Spire because I kept taking the elevator — even when the stairs were right there. I tried step counters, habit trackers, fitness apps. None of them made stairs feel *meaningful*. The moment I thought "what if 8,849 meters of climbing = Everest?" — something clicked. Spire uses HealthKit's FlightsClimbed data, so there's no logging, no guessing. Your iPhone already knows how many floors you climbed today. Spire just turns that data into something you actually care about. A few things I'm proud of: - The Streak Freeze mechanic (inspired by Duolingo) — missing one day doesn't kill your habit - Landmark progression — seeing "You're at 5,000m on Everest" makes every floor feel like progress - 17-language localization, with culturally relevant landmarks per region I'm a solo developer based in Japan. This is my first app. Would love to hear what you think — especially if you've ever tried (and failed) to take the stairs more. AMA! 🙌

Who hunted Spire?

Spire was hunted by Naoki Maeda. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
